"its going to be cold so you turn up the heat...and worms gotta have food in winter just like every other time of the year."

Except the practice in Vietnam is NOT to rear silkworms in the winter. KBLB was bucking the trend. The leaves that could be harvested might be of low quality. This doesn't seem that much of a stretch to me.

"the rooms don't seem to be all that big...how about spending 25 bucks on a humidifier and use it on and off as needed?"

When I lived in Hawaii, I got a job interview in Minneapolis. In January. None of the department stores in Honolulu carried heavy winter parkas. I wonder why?

Just run down to the local Home Depot and plunk down your credit card and run off with 10 humidifiers, right? Except, well, I doubt they have Home Depots in Quang Nam and humidifiers may be a pretty rare piece of technology in Vietnam. Tropical countries don't need humidifiers very often. The typical problem is too much humidity, not insufficient humidity. I'm guessing these are much harder to come by than you assume. I doubt many households in the area have a humidifier. Finally, it may not have been obvious to the crew at Prodigy this was a problem. They don't have a lot of experience rearing silkworms under artificial/winter conditions.

We will probably just have to agree to disagree about this one.
