Sorry, no bragging rights to riches here. I'm a college dropout who happened to marry the woman I loved and decided I wanted a family.

Now I don't know if you possess any faith or not but I happened across this verse from the Book of Sirach --- that's Old Testament wisdom literature which is a part of the longer canon of the Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic Bible:

Being independently wealthy or working for a living—both can make life pleasant, but it is better to find a treasure.

I'm not independently wealthy and I know what it's like to work for a living (believe me). It's the latter part of this verse I lay claim to:

"...it is better to find a treasure."

I knew I would never get ahead by working a job so in the 80's I ordered Berkshire Hathaway's annual reports and studied them -- with particular attention to Buffet's nuggets of wisdom on investing.

Then I decided to HUNT FOR TREASURES in the shit-pile of the Pink Sheets that everyone else (you know, the smart folks with money) were avoiding. And, since I didn't have a lot of capital to begin with -- my major foray into the market started with 4 figures -- the pink sheets seemed like the best place for me and the perfect place to HUNT.

Decades of hunting yielded dozens of treasures that -- while I don't call myself wealthy in the way you refer to wealth -- allowed me to pay my taxes, my bills, feed a large family, put braces on my kids teeth, help them with their education, cars, homes, etc.... and enjoy an occasional night out with my wife at a nice restaurant.

What I do is more like SPORT. I enjoy doing what I do, I suppose in the same way that Buffet still enjoys going into his office. For me THE THRILL IS IN THE HUNT!

FWIW, I now have the credentials to engage in multiple businesses (and do) - its just that investing in nano and microcap companies is where I make the majority of my income.

One of my earliest finds was IEH Corp. One of the first great penny stocks I purchased in the 90's at .15 cents

Buffet does a great job DESCRIBING SUCCESS here
