Sales tax similar to Minnesota where I am from. Also no tax on Social Security. The state of Florida gets its revenue from tourism. Hotels rental cars etc It is much cheaper to live here. A lot warmer- more conservative politically. I would never knowingly become a resident of a high income tax state again. Also housing is much cheaper. We live in a house here that would twice as expensive up north. Retiring here is a no brainer
