Bayer said to discuss settling Roundup cases for $10B, Bloomberg reports 16:57
BAYRY Lawyers for some plaintiffs in the "tens of thousands" of claims against Bayer said they are discussing with the company deals that could lead to a total payout of about $10B to settle claims that the weedkiller causes cancer, Bloomberg's Jef Feeley reports, citing people with direct knowledge of the negotiations. In some talks, the company's lawyers have said the chemical maker will set aside $8B to resolve current cases and reserve $2B for future claims, Feeley says. Roundoup has been blamed for illnesses including non-Hodgkin's lympoma, the author notes.
