For me a guy who played 24 years the guy could even accumulate 100 Homers or 3000 Hits. What that is basically saying is he didn't even average 125 hits a season. I don't care how good he was defensively for me, you have to earn it with you bat, to get to borderline and than it could push you over. Like larry walker for example. Scott Rolen, although I think is on the other side of the fence if he makes it and I think he will in a couple of year his defense helps his cause. But these are borderline players who are helped with there defense, his hitting is not anywhere up to par for an all star, let alone a HOF. I know he can field I seen him enough, that doesn't make you a HOF though in my opinion.
