If I am understanding you comment and concern correctly.

If the MM's are artificially holding down the price until the payout and if that payout was in either stock or cash they would not hold it down for long. and so if it's stock hold the shares if it's cash buy the shares.


If they are holding the price down we would receive more shares but if it's cash we obviously would get less value.

I am sue I am misreading what you meant.
