I just came across this article from 2 years ago, you all probly already seen it. The coincidences here, especially this proposal got scrapped just before the PTABs.

“consumers would rather eliminate the set-top box altogether than embrace a complex regulatory scheme that will require them to have another box in their home and won’t take effect for at least three years.” what is that about? This was definitely in Chanbond’s favor, probly bc of this lawsuit they could not vote on releasing the technology to more companies.
