I currently have no position in this company.

I just don’t like non-aviation people bashing something they don’t understand.

I’ve worked on Boeing aircraft, dealt with Boeing tech support. It’s a quality product.

As far as the MAX? They made a series of mistakes after hanging those LEAP engines on a proven airframe. Then they tried to jury-rigg solutions and went down the wrong paths.

The basic issue in the whole thing was that they had very small margins of safety in the weight and balance envelope. They tried to insure that the pilots didn’t violate that margin by putting in that MCAS system. And they hung the whole operation of the MCAS system on one Angle Of Attack (AOA) sensor. When that sensor failed, the system thought the pilot was stalling the aircraft and kept pitching it over. And the company VERY STUPIDLY never even told the pilots how to defeat the system should it become corrupt.

The basic aircraft (737 platform) and the LEAP engines are good products separately. But when married together, it caused issues which caused issues with the flight characteristics of the final product.

I will say right right now, that modifying the systems of the MAX so that it has redundancy in monitoring the flight attitude of the aircraft, and giving the pilots more training in the aircraft will make the MAX very safe to fly in.

Let’s not forget that most of the stealth aircraft in our military arsenal have flight characteristics that are so inherently unstable that they can’t even maintain flight without a number of computers controlling them. Yet they fly safely every day.

Boeing will modify the MAX aircraft and it WILL be a safe aircraft.

Whether or not the flying public accepts it is another matter.

I keep telling myself....deep breath....count to ten....try to answer without personal attack...if available, always try to present fact to back up your opinion.
