Here's how to put a call to action on top of a video:

It's really very easy to do.

1. put your video tag inside a fixed position div. A div is just an area you will be putting html code inside of.

2. put your call to action div on top of the video using relative position. This div will be the same size as your video. Use transparent color for the background so you can still see the video

3. create the call to action button within the relative div you just created -- simple button used all over websites. The button will be styled, positioned, sized, and have the words and link you want to go to, just like any other button on any other website.

4. Hide the button until it is time to appear in the video.

5. use javascript to keep track of time - it will start when the video plays. Javascript has all kinds of functions that track videos played in html. Here's a list: https://www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_av_dom.asp

6. Based on the javascript time variable - display the call to action button element, or turn it off. This guarantees that the call to action button shows up only during the video times it is supposed to.

Easy peasy.

This is what investors long had thought constituted a technological breakthrough requiring millions of lines of code. My contribution was in revealing that this aspect of the 'technology' is actually very simple. Calls to action on top of a video may look cool, but they also are very very simple.

My philosophy is to just be honest and balanced, and let the market decide if it agrees or not.
