Regarding the dog, you may recall my post a month or so ago about a collarless dog that appeared in my driveway as I was getting out of my car.

It was a husky mix, a handsome dog that was friendly and looked to be in need of food. I fed him meat and dog biscuits that I keep on hand for the dogs next door. The next day I while shopping at the market I bought a can of dog food.

A few days later I spotted the dog at a neighbor's home across the street. She had set out a bowl of food and water for the dog. I told her that she was an angel for caring for the critter.

About a week later my next door neighbor gave me the hot scoop on the pup. Turns out his name is Jack and he lives up the street. He's a mooch who, like Blanche DuBois , relies "...on the kindness of strangers."

It may be that the pet's owners purposely haven't licensed the dog and set him out when they run out of dog food so saps like us will feed him.

I'm done with this charlatan.
