I don't "Trade" at all, and I do invest pretty much like Buffett. In fact I mod IHUB's two BRK boards. Regarding BA, I've owned it for about 20 years since I got the shares as a spinoff from Rockwell International, which itself is one of The Street's great winners.

Mostly charting is popular because it's easy, compared to fundamental analysis. Any slobbering stock gambler can think he sees "something" in a wiggly line.
