Cassava Sciences Inc. (SAVA) shares rose 25% to $2.81 premarket after a Form 4 report showed one of the company's directors made a significant share purchase.

The Form 4 report issued Friday showed that director Sanford Robertson bought about 423,700 Cassava shares Friday, and about 76,000 shares Thursday, bringing his ownership to about 663,000 Cassava shares.

The report also showed that Finance Chief Eric Schoen bought 5,300 shares Thursday.

Shares of Cassava closed Friday's trading up 18% to $2.25. The company has 17.2 million shares outstanding.
