Been following Short Volume Ratio (Fintel website). Last week with a bit of an uptrend, the short volume ratio was relatively low at 14-19. Before that we were in the 20's and even touched 33. Last few days back up to 20's with Dec. 19th at 30.47, ouch no wonder it tanked yesterday (total volume 404k, short volume 123k). Apparently, a short volume ratio about 10 is ok, 15-19 is getting high, and 20+ is very high and cause for concern. So the million dollar question is why have we been in the 20-30+ neighborhood? Simply overvalued based on valuation models? Why are the shorts piling on, and when might we expect them to abandon ship and go elsewhere.
