This is what those making the claim about the "Final Payment" choose to ignore. The FDIC gave JPM full authority to value the assets they were buying (of course they lowballed the assets...duh!) and high uncertainty in the markets where assets were being sold off at way below their market value further aided JPM's actions. We were doomed from the onset IMO.
