As the President and Chief Executive Officer, Terry Clontz leads a high energy and experienced team to position StarHub as the leading provider of innovative info-communications solutions in Singapore and Asia.

StarHub, launched only in April 2000, already has become a substantial player in providing voice, data networking, broadband, Internet services, and mobile phone services to multi-national corporations and businesses in Singapore. For consumers, StarHub supplies International calling services, Internet access services, and Mobile phone services. In just two years, from a standing start, StarHub has grown its revenues to over S$600 million on an annualized basis. Its performance in operating cash flow is one year ahead of original targets. StarHub's merger with SCV promises a full service info-comms/multi-media rich powerhouse, thus strengthening its solid base of operations in Singapore. StarHub, a joint venture controlled by Singapore Technologies Telemedia, but including as shareholders NTT Communications, BT, Singapore Press Holdings and Media Corporation of Singapore, has excellent strategically relevant sponsorship and partners.

Terry is a veteran in the info-communications industry, with more than 29 years of experience in the industry. Before joining StarHub in January 1999, he was the Chief Executive Officer and President of IPC Information Systems Inc. from 1995 to 1998, based in New York City.

Terry began his career with Southern Bell in 1973. He joined BellSouth International in 1987. During his eight years there, Terry held several senior executive positions, initially as Vice President - international business development focused mainly on Latin America, Vice President of Europe, and his last three years as President of Asia Pacific. Terry also served as Board Director in a number of companies, including OPTUS Communications (Australia), Sonofon (a GSM mobile phone operator in Denmark), and COMDEV ( a cableTV MSO in France). He served as Chairman of BellSouth New Zealand (a GSM mobile phone operator in New Zealand) from 1993 to 1995.

His past few years at StarHub have dealt him more than the usual start-up challenges. More than 1,800 people were hired and trained in 18 months, over 300 services were readied for simultaneous launch, a new brand and corporate image were created to appeal to both consumers and businesses, and groups of employees from three different shareholders were successfully assimilated into a highly multi-cultural work environment. Then, only ten weeks before StarHub's full commercial launch, the government decided to accelerate the liberalization of the telecom market, thereby severely impacting StarHub's entire launch strategy and plans with only two months to prepare. Terry believes that these challenges have been good experience for the team, as they have learned to succeed in an environment of constant change.

Terry is married and has five children. His interests include tennis, golf, running, travel, and family outings.
