you can't have an EPS if they are not generating net income.....so you can't apply the multiple to EPS in VRUS case. It would be a negative number...and you can't have shares with a negative price. You have to use something else as a proxy, in this case...revenue.
I recommend you to learn a little bit about finance and don't say something is wrong without facts. I will show you a perfect case of a company (Beyond Meat) that you can verify and by the way, has a loss of -$19.4M for the last 12 months. Facts is what we need here.

As you can see, Price/Sales is 20.29, so much higher than the 2 to 12 range mentioned by Mark and for your surprise Forward P/E is 195.29, so double of the according to you "obscenely large 100x multiplier from last time" I gave.
With these kind of multiplier of 20 VRUS could be at 1 dollar, which I'm not expecting in the short term (I'm expecting 0.05 to 0.5), but just for you to know it is possible. And explained with facts and knowledge.
