Exactly. Walmarts biggest rival is Amazon and they fight to gain exclusivity online for new products that they think will be hot. I don’t think this means for the physical locations though, it might only be exclusivity on the Internet, because Amazon only sells online.

I’ve seen this for many other products, but it only lasts a short period before the other competitor gets it. My guess is that it will last for three months and for the quantity ordered it will likely only be in one country (usa).

I know for a fact that they’re setting up retailers in multiple countries right now per Google searches, so they don’t have blanket exclusivity. It is limited and not really that big of a deal because it’s going to take a few months to ramp up production and be able to fill large orders all over the world anyways.

Let the largest retailer have short term exclusivity in the USA, while they set up other retailers in Canada, Europe, etc. it’s a good plan, especially since they were able to ensure that they have the largest retailer from day one.
