That's meaningless intra-day MM order processing short "Volume", not short "Interest". Completely different things.

MMs often borrow shares very briefly as part of their job to quickly process orders during the day...."Volume"

Short "Interest" is the open borrowed short shares needing to be bought back at some point in the future. This is what's generally discussed as "shorts".
