From 10/15 to previous trading day: 19M in additional short volume as reported by regsho consolidated daily (8.08M in nov till friday and 10.97 in second half of oct).
However, during these trading days over 100M shares were traded as a part of the daily trading volume. We won't know what percentage of that was short covering (to cover the original 50+M short on 10/15) until later today.

Usually, short money is also smart money. But in AMRN's case, given the flurry of good news, short thesis makes no sense unless there is unethical inside info.

Bought more puts to hedge my shares - just in case. Hope this short volume resuls in a massive short covering that takes the share price to new highs after a positive adcom.
