I'm heading out now to FDA Silver Spring to do some Adcom-recon. I want to get a lay of the land to see what is in the area as far as possible meeting places for those of us who will be attending the adcom. Thinking perhaps the best night for dinner may be after the Adcom when we can get a definite count as to attendees.

Perhaps just drinks the night before - with happy hour and/or dinner for those that actually show up on Wednesday after traveling to DC.

I'm going to throw two immediate ideas out there for consideration for whoever is coming.

The first is to meet at the bar in the Courtyard Hotel on Prosperity Avenue in Silver Spring. A few attendees will be staying there and I am guessing the bar won't be too busy that we can just hang out and talk (assuming those not staying there have their own rentals or own cars to get where they need to be afterward) and order bar food from the restaurant if we are hungry while we are drinking.

The second idea for the night before the Adcom is to meet at the MGM hotel/casino just across the river from National Airport. Unsure what airport people are flying into - but if you are coming into Dulles - it will be a longer drive for you to hit the MGM and the Spring Field option would be closer. If MGM is the groups preference - you can drink and eat and play to your hearts content until the cows come home - and make your way home or to your hotel in whatever manner you chose after the DC rush hour dies down.

For those of you not familiar with DC traffic - I personally think it is worse than LA. In LA - there are feeder roads all over. We are not that fortunate here. My 38 mile ride takes 2 hours each night.

Anyway - feel free to private message or gmail me with your preference or suggestions. I'll get back to you in a few hours after I visit silver spring and get some more ideas.
