Your average ( 80+ %) prescribing physician will not prescribe an over the counter (OTC) Omega 3. It is not in their paradigm. They cannot vouch for the ingredients, or, for the clinical results. They need to be able to answer the question, "Dr., why recommend an OTC, when you can be clinically sure with a pharmaceutical grade and researched, FDA approved product?"
