AA/EPA RATIO
Last week I posted my 6-year historical lipid panel to demonstrate the supercharging effect VASCEPA has on lowering TG’s and LDL-C when combined with statins. Thanks to the many posts by JL about the role EPA plays in lowering Systemic Inflammation (SI), which in turn plays a role in reducing degenerative diseases like cancer, and heart diseases, it’s my belief that in the near future the Omega-6 vs Omega-3 ratios will replace the standard lipid panel we’ve had for decades.
With that in mind I present to you my very first OM6/OM3 panel for your enjoyment:
AA: 6.40
EPA: 4.30
DHA: 1.90
AA/EPA: 1.49

A general Rule of Thumb states the following SI levels for the AA/EPA ratio:
1.5-3: Low SI
3-6: Moderate SI
7-15: Elevated SI
>15: High SI

As a footnote there's been a lot of discussion about the VASCEPA dosage and the recommended instructions for taking 2g twice a day with a fatty meal to get maximum absorption of the EPA. I take mine at 2g twice a day (morning & evening). My morning dose is always on an empty stomach because I never eat breakfast (well rarely). My evening meals are usually not "Fatty" either. As you can see from my test I don't have an Absorption Problem which has been the criticism leveled at VASCEPA by some competing and unnamed products (you know who I'm talking about).
