no 70% is not the same for everything

70% of a two cent stock is a bit different than 70% of a 100 dollar stock

revenue increasing by 70% off 100k is very different than revenue increase of 70% off a billion

this is grammar school stuff - everyone knows that percentages need to be taken in context

a 70 percent increase of a brand new company in a brand new industry is completely different than a 70% increase of an established company in an established industry

housing prices dropping 70% is very different to housing increasing 70%

a 70% profit margin is unique to almost each company


profits increased by 70% can have 100's of reasons why - with each being different - the percentage is the same but the reasoning can be night and day
