Yet a study of the VBP on this three day chart seems to indicate that very few shares have traded under $2.60 and the volume was strongest in the $3.25-$4 area. Most of these shares would have been bought by index funds and are not being "shaken out".

IMO - it's likely that the shares were sold short to index funds and now can't be covered.
