Chemist, I'm checking for some corrections to that article. The BK is certainly on-going.

Many people hold Sears because they or an ancestor bought a few shares years ago and its been forgotten. Don't read too much in SH numbers. Think of all the Sears employees who picked up say 10 shares during the glory days. They might might not even have a brokerage account anymore.

I still have EE savings bonds that were gifts to me from relatives when I was born. Keepsakes. Not earning interest anymore.
