Ok then...it's a hard drive either 1gb or 500gb of storage(unless it was upgraded). Yes...heavy usage will beat it up. Another thing to consider is your ram(memory). It probably came with 4 gigs of ram. More ram will help your hard drive out. Heavy uses on one drive will take it's toll as well. That's why I am heavy on ram and use multiple drives.

In your case...yes...you probably will have a shorter life cycle with your drive. Appreciate the follow up.
