PG, thanks, great answers! and I 100% agree with your final statement,

The challenge for LWLG is to settle the question of stability once and for all and to get their polymer technology integrated into true PIC solutions, rather than discrete modulators.

I believe they are very close now with the successful R/T of PkM Gen 2 and have proven the 100Gbs with low Optical Loss, if they can deliver it with the promised 1V and driverless it's a lock! I also believe Dr Lebby has all of the IP needed in place now for the PIC builds, whether with a partner, or going it alone and funded by a large VC, or an Industry Consortium

From all presentations I've seen, PIC's will overtake Discrete Devices in 2021, so LWLG may actually get to sell some Discrete Modulators before their PIC (or P2IC) version is implemented in mass volumes

I believe Poet's solution is a "packaging" solution, their Optical Interposer is an Industry first wafer level packaging solution, the EA modulator they are using come from Almae, but I still do not understand why LWLG could not partner with Poet on an Optical Engine as Poet's OI is "speed agnostic"

Slide 15 of this presentation shows how Poet is pulling together a TROE currently
