It wouldn't hurt to get an estimate from the Lowes people. Then call two or three local flooring contractors and get their recommendations and estimates.

From what I can understand, the stuff goes down easily and is warranted a long time. Like 20 years?

I have the parquet glue down blocks in part of my garage office. Not very expensive, but not very durable either. I wouldn't have in in my home.

But I have seen the more expensive prefinished floors in some homes and the results were pretty impressive.
