was anyone around during the Cobalt startup followed by their IPO (that raised $850M)?

I wasn't following it but I am somewhat aware of the later crash and the cause of the later collapse (kickbacks to foreign officials that ran afoul of international anti-corruption laws)

the reason I ask-

hearing a summary of the rise in market valuation of Cobalt, a small independent exploration company, when they hit a large subsalt oil reservoir, might be analogous to what will hopefully happen here
