What prevents them from making money BOTH ways (down and up) ? Ya kind of have to get out of this wash sale mindset ya have. No wash sales when you profit BOTH ways. Wash sales have to do with losses - which 99.89% of loyal investors (retail) have. Intelligent readers/posters are most likely getting annoyed with your inability to read and understand basic concepts
