Vascepa label should really be Trig free plus statin free...But I fear that it will take another successful R-IT style study before the FDA agrees to a statin free label...IMO it will eventually happen...and the sooner the better

In RI, out of 8179 patients, 521 were on low statin therapy. That's 6.4% of the trial. Out of those 521 patients, 48 (out of 254) had events in the active arm and 45 (out of 267) were in the placebo arm. Albeit small sample size, RRR to 1st event was less than 0% (negative).

Those on moderate statin therapy (62% of RI) had 24% RRR (to 1st event).

Those on high statin therapy (31% of RI) had 31% RRR (to 1st event).
