J.L. I recommend buying a good battery charger 15/25A and at least (2)Two 12VDC 100Amp car batteries, charge them up before the storm. Get yourself at least (1)One 12vdc/120vdc 1KW or 2KW inverter. Great way to keep the lights on, plus keep the devices charged. With the girls they ride out storm no problem. They have there tablets to play with. We hold out in our middle bedroom cement block walls protects us, lights and entertainment.

Once the storm passes use your car to charge the batteries or a small generator and run stuff like a fridge.

We have gone one month without electricity a couple of times. So this make life comfortable.
