It is easy to search a business name registered with the Ministry of Government Services. Searches can be done on exact business names, words within a business name or by the Ontario Business Identification Number.
The fee for the Enhanced Business Name Search will vary depending on the type of report requested. The fee is payable by American Express (AMEX), MasterCard or VISA only.

Searches cannot be performed outside of this time period or on statutory holidays, including Easter Monday, Simcoe Day and Remembrance Day.

New Business Name registrations done outside of this time period or on statutory holidays, including Easter Monday, Simcoe Day and Remembrance Day will result in a Master Business Licence being mailed to you within two weeks.
Important Note: A corporate validation must be performed when registering or renewing a trade or style name for an existing corporation or for a corporate partner within a general partnership. If a corporate validation is performed outside of the hours of operation or on a statutory holiday both the Ontario corporation name and the Ontario corporate number must be provided. This will allow the business name registration to be accepted and will result in a Master Business Licence being mailed to you within two weeks.
