The key is if they plan to sell into the US. If they do, then that Market is shut off via US Customs. Parts are held upon entry.

More importantly, complete assemblies containing infringing components can be held. The company whose assembly is held isn’t happy, so they then decide to specify their components can only come from legitimate suppliers. That is where a good PR alerting the industry of a win is important.

So, even if the assembly occurs in China, the ability to ship into the US Market is governed by US law.

That said, if the product will be only sold within China, or some other countries, then there is little that can be done. And I agree that is a big problem.
