I wonder how common it is in other countries to name their cars? We always had at least one Betsy in the driveway. Probably left over from the horse days.

I still 'pat' the dash of my car to let it know I still love it when it acts up and I cuss it out.

Reminds me of an old joke. raise your hand if you've heard it.

Man and his new wife are coming home from the wedding ceremony when the horse drawing the cart trips and scares his wife.

The man says "That's one" and gets the horse going again.

A bit later the horse trips again and again scares his wife.

The man gets the horse going again and says, "That's two".

Finally the poor old horse trips again and the man whips out his pistol and shoots the horse dead.

His wife was distraught and yelled at her husband, "You did not need to shoot the horse."

The man looked at his new bride and calmly said, "That's one."


It's not a very funny joke today. It was hilarious in the 60's
