It's odd but I do hear that from time to time.

The last was "The pages of history are earmarked by the successes of liberals and the failures of conservatives".

I have no idea if it was used. Never looked.


I really liked that one and still use it in the heat of battle. It's not completely airtight but if the conservatives were winning the war we would still be in the 19th century or whatever is their collective idealized time frame - if I had to guess it would be 1890.
