Sure, the Old GOP would elect a woman or a black woman. Unfortunately that party is no longer on the playing field.

The old GOP is now in the independent group. Sure they would nominate a woman or a black woman. But the Trump base? It would split the base because if you are a white man over 60 you know these folks have been anti anything but white male since the beginning of time. They are the American Taliban. They even have bent the christian bible in the same manner the Taliban are bending the Koran.

So I think you would have as much luck convincing the Taliban to elect a female as you would the GOP. You can nominate anybody. Getting them past the ignorant misogynist racists that fill the party would be impossible.
