But why does it have to be vests? What about bullet proof tents. Think about how much more material goes into a tent. There is probably 100s of vest worth of material in one tent. They also would be more portable. Temporary out post use lots of large tents.

What if vehicles could be lightened by replacing panels with silk panels what could easily be swapped out once fired upon.

Weather or not it could replace Kevlar really is irrelevant. There are many other uses for a light weight material that is bulletproof but has some stretch.

I have no doubt that the army and all military will be using KBLB spider silk at some point in time.
