Probably because they think very highly of themselves and them not being sure of the date makes them look like amateurs. They’d rather have a concrete date ready and entered into the register and then a formal PR with no uncertainties.

I have never seen the FDA schedule an adcom with a “tentative” date. Also I’ve never seen the FDA schedule an adcom after the PDUFA date on a PRIORITY review. 2 firsts for me. Let’s play a game, first one who can find any of the 2 I’ll deliver them a pizza :)

In fact the only thing that makes sense to me after I’ve had this time to think about it is JT decided he wanted more than the original sNDA asked for. I’ve thought of every other scenario for the late adcom, and it’s the only thing that makes sense. For every other reason, they could have issued the adcom months ago.

The way he has slowly changed the language in the PRs culminating to the way he talked on the recent investors call, makes me think this was a last minute decision by him.

Hopefully the FDA does the right thing here and put the health of Americans first.
