ask the experts on China and they all say that China has all the leverage

You must be listening only to certain viewpoints. I have heard just as many China experts that believe the U.S. has a very strong position. I believe it is very difficult for China, with a 500 hundred billion dollar surplus with the U.S., to win this dispute. They need us more than we need them. It sounds like a lot of companies have moved manufacturing out of China to countries like Vietnam, India, etc. to avoid tariffs. China has manipulated their currency lower, in effect lowing the cost of products supplied to U.S. companies, limiting the impact of tariffs on the American consumer. The billions collected from tariffs are being used to assist the farmers impacted by reduced agriculture products purchased by China. China may attempt to wait out the election, however, I would love to see what kind of deal they get if "you know who" gets re-elected. IP protection was part of the "seven evil-sins-of-China" list expressed by White House Trade Advisor Peter Navarro. I believe IP protection is of major importance to this administration's dealing with China. Hopefully, we will see multiple IDCC license agreements signed if a trade resolution occurs.
