Well ...

I've never seen grapple hooks on a loader -- at least the type of loader you'd see on a small farm tractor. Typically a loader is used only for scooping up stuff such as loose dirt, manure, dead animals, the wife (oops, scratch that), anything you can scoop up and which fits within the side walls of the loader. That's why it's called a loader. I sometimes use it to dig but the manual says I'm not supposed to do that. I do it anyway -- it's my machine for Pete's sake -- and the manual doesn't morph into a monster then chase me down to spank me. But, I have had to do some welding and round up a replacement #8 bolt to fix the damage I've done to the mounts and lift arms every so often.

Anyway ... scooping up large logs that are already precut to wood stove length, but not split, doesn't work very well because it's near impossible to scoop up a piled-high-&-deep load that fills all the available space efficiently, especially when those things are round and try to roll away; so it has to be done by hand, piled high and deep. Then when the loader is full, I take logs that are longer than the loader is wide, and lift them up over the loader and place them across the loader's lift bars. By the time it's all done it looks pretty amusing (uh, stupid-funny), and I have to stand up to see where I'm driving to. And sometimes it's dark out because I've been working late, and the headlights don't help because they're blocked by the loader and reflect back into my eyes and cause them to contract, making everything else look darker; so I end up having to stand up so I can see over the top of the loader and drive with one hand while I'm holding a flashlight high over the load with the other hand.

Hate it when I hit a bump and the logs fall off here and roll off there. Gotta think harder and remember to take those ropes and straps along.
