Aloha Third Leg quick "reminder" of how the German deal is scheduled for this Fall. I figure the new Invictus MD management is working feverishly to obtain compliance etc.

Wayland, DEMECAN and Invictus MD

So, the news is out: Aphria, Aurora and DEMECAN are the three finalists of the German tender bid. The winners will be announced in two short weeks, on April 17.

While Aphria and Aurora did not submit a news release, Wayland did:

the Company has been selected by the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (“BfArM”), through its German joint venture DEMECAN GmbH

So who is DEMECAN? Here is what I've found so far:
Company Overview

They're a pharma wholesaler and distributor.

Their main website is http://www.demecan.de/ and they have three directors:

Dr. Cornelius Maurer

Dr. Constantin von der Groeben

Dr. Adrian Fischer

They have an office in Kreuzberg, Berlin and Dresden and may have been founded in 2017.
Constructing a production plant in December 2017

Job description for a project manager.

Their website still mentions hiring a project manager.
DEMECAN removed from ICC Cannabis International's portfolio

FutureMoneyTrends.com posted an article on Jan 23 mentioning DEMECAN, Maricann GmbH and Mariplant GmbH in ICC's German portfolio. They even posted a screenshot.

A Bing search shows it really was mentioned on ICC's website, see the title of the first result.

DEMECAN is also missing from ICC's deck.
When did Maricann invest in DEMECAN?

The earliest reference I could find is from August 2018, when the company announced their super warrants:

The Corporation represents and warrants to the Agents and to the Purchasers, and acknowledges that each of them is relying upon such representations and warranties in connection with the completion of the Offering, that as of the date hereof:

(...)

(c) the Corporation has no direct or indirect subsidiary or any material investment or proposed investment in any person that is or will be material to the Corporation, other than the Subsidiaries and other than in connection with its investment in Demecan GmbH;

This is the only reference in the 53 pages document.
DEMECAN, also known as...

DEMECAN stands for Deutsches Medizinal-Cannabis, German medical cannabis.

There is a similar website, http://www.deutschehanf.com, whose name means "German hemp".

Deutsche Medizinalcannabis GmbH, aka DMC Pharma (why stop at four names?) has the same directors and a different website, http://www.deutschemedizinalcannabis.de/ which leads me to:
DEMECAN is getting supplied by Invictus MD

10,000 kg of dried flower over 5 years, first shipment this fall:

its wholly-owned licensed producer, Acreage Pharms Ltd. ("Acreage Pharms"), has entered into a five-year supply and distribution agreement with Deutsche Medizinalcannabis GmbH ("Deutsche Medizinalcannabis") for a total of 10,000 kgs of dried cannabis flower.

Deutsche Medizinalcannabis is an importer and distributor of medical cannabis in Germany with a vast distribution network and direct access to 20,000 pharmacies and a clear focus on product marketing and professional education (see press releases dated June 19, 2018 and September 24, 2018, for further details).

It looks like DEMECAN was involved in Acreage Pharms' EU-GMP certification compliance:

"Highest medical quality and reliable constant supply is what German patients deserve and what both, Invictus and Deutsche Medizinalcannabis, stand for. It has been a terrific experience to work with Invictus in achieving EU-GMP compliance for their Acreage Pharms facility."

said Cornelius Maurer, Co-Founder and CEO of Deutsche Medizinalcannabis.

"Invictus' supply will ease the product shortage in German pharmacies and lay the foundation for Deutsche Medizinalcannabis to become Germany's most reliable wholesaler of medical cannabis products. We are excited to further develop our international network of EU-GMP certified suppliers through this partnership."
