I've only been watching / buying a couple of stocks since January and it's been a really relaxing year as a result. I have my primary hold and a secondary ticker that I could side trade out of at any time. That and being ultra-conservative and staying in a solid pile of cash has made it relatively stress free thus far.

While I've been waiting for the trades and any filings to come to my current tickers, I decided to pass the time by trying out Ancestry. I wouldn't do that DNA thing of course, but the regular old timeline has been pretty amazing!

I started with the knowledge that I was (rough estimate) 25% Irish, 25% I-talian, 37.5 English & 12.5% French. The first big surprise is that I found out I had deep roots to Canada. Now Weiner, who doesn't seem to like many Canadians, may not be too happy about this, but Joe Fricken Ea? Canada & Trendtrade might think it's cool!

For one, my English great-grandfather became a US citizen but fought in WW1 for the Canadian military b/c US was neutral at the time. The big shock came via the 12.5% French section of the tree. Apparently my relatives have been in Quebec, North America since the 1600s, and I am also a direct descendant of ROYALTY. My 12.5 % French line actually includes French, along with Spanish & I-talian ROYALTY. A bunch of my DIRECT BLOOD ancestors are on wikipedia!

I won't get into which b/c honestly, my great-(x9) grandfather was a bit like Darth Vader. Suppose...say.. Street Trader or whoever was a relative of one of the folks my great (x9)grandpa terrorized? I mean, I don't need to stir up 500 year old issues!

In conclusion, use Ancestry with caution as it can be pretty -> INTENSE

I do feel I have this newfound knowledge for a reason though.
