Drug reps are the ones who put V samples in a doctor's office. Having samples in their office reminds them to prescribe V, and makes it easier to get patients started on it. While a conversation with a rep may not by itself get a doctor to start prescribing, it does let them hand a copy of the R-It results to them (which they may not have seen) and get samples in the office. Reps may not be as persuasive now as when they could wine and dine docs, but I believe they still can help alter prescribing even if in subtle ways.
