For those of you who aren't familiar with faults the faults shifts ground such that the other side of the fault may be geologically 30 miles away or 2 miles deeper as the rock shifts.
Hence, geology does not run directly across the fault; no one really knows where the strike' would be.
Another way of saying it; if one has real estate in Manhattan its worth money because of where it is. In geology faulted rock doesn't stay in the same place it moves through earthquakes, volcanoes etc. so attempting to put value on a geological place because its close to a mine with a fault between them is amateurish and a fool's game.
And, much exploration has been done South of the Larder Lake fault but no mine has yet been found. Doesn't mean there is no gold South of the fault but it may be 30 miles west or East of 5 miles deep or not at all, no one knows.
