HOMS closed the 25 puts before the close.. a bird in hand did the same with QCOM. Whatever happens with HOMS tomorrow I can get on the train at the time.. You learn from mistakes. I held EBAY too long a while back and watched the 70 calls expire worthless, now I want to FINISH the trade before the earnings.. only some plays that I prepared for a long time like QLGC, MSCC did I hold through earnings and did very well. QCOM I covered BEFORE the earnings taking the nice profit and VRSN went into the call options already. I used to enter prematurely and now I just play the anticipation and as close to earnings as possible I'd pick up the calls/puts or just be flat. That way a profit is locked in, and if I want to gamble with some lose change I can afford to take the gamble.
