Direct changes the tumor microenvironment, is programmed to lower cancer cell defenses and signaling cuts off tumor growth. When a tumor can't grow it dies and leaves necrotic tumor mass in it's wake. Sound familiar? When we all see how it works this time without handcuffs on we will not want to sell a share. I believe the Direct trial must get started to convince existing supporters not to sell to those who want derisked shares on the cheap. We know they are out there. I expect the Direct trial to start in August to help create a steady stream of news that convinces longs to mostly hold through initial news from L. I also believe Linda had money to get to the finish line with L but took out this money to get Direct started and improve a news stream that longs were promised would come. I am convinced this financing was a strategic move by Linda and friendlies were called upon to participate. Until a news stream happens, though, the bears have been given the upper hand.
Going back to L for a minute, think about the importance of what has happened in Germany. The hold continues there, more than once Fraunhofer claimed to have optimized L including since the hold (you don't optimize a placebo as some would indirectly try to convince us) and the Germans did not fill their SOC/placebo cohort but did fill their treatment cohort. They referrenced this move as statistically sufficient even though powering was reduced. Think about that for a second: ). Couple this with improving 3 year outcomes in line with expectations of treatment effect and a late forming enrollment ratio discrepancy favoring treatment and the evidence becomes quite compelling.
Bears want us to look in a different direction than the obvious. Their perspective is that patients can't be known to benefit until L clears the hurdles of the process and crosses the finish line. Their goal has neen to pressure NWBO to prove L works and suppress the price until they do. In their view nice stories from patients are great to hear but their stories don't change the data for the entire group and the way Linda Powers runs the business by holding on to some key information and over promising and under delivering just makes it easy for them to make her look bad so why not. What they fail to mention is that what Linda, Fraunhofer and others have given us is enough to connect the dots. Anyone who has been on this board for a while knows sentiment-stocks, flipper44 and a few others have done a yeoman's job of that. Best wishes.
