In this particular realm, "scientific" musings are not taken seriously or used as rebuttal to work peer-reviewed in academic publications (e.g. NEJM) unless those musings are themselves peer-reviewed in a similar fashion.

Plenty of things are interesting, and perhaps worthy of consideration -- very generally -- regardless of the source. That's not what we're talking about here.

We're talking about a smart and twisted misanthrope who can't accept a bad call he made on an investment.

The FDA isn't required to take this any more seriously than they would take a post on 4chan.
