OmegaVia EPA 500 vs Vascepa
As a CAD patient who has taken plenty of both and had lipid panels run on both ....JMO

The real problem with Omega Via EPA IMHO is the delivery method ...mailed / UPS / Fedx etc
The number of times I've come home to find an Amazon box containing OmegaVia EPA ...sitting on my drive way in the afternoon sun ...is more then I care to mention .
There is no way anyone can convince me that this product in this situation is as good as Vascepa held in cool storage at your local pharmacy
This can be a real problem for those in the Sth West during the summer ...how to get the Omegia Via EPA delivered in a way where the quality wasn't compromised during transit or after delivery .
Yes you can have it shipped to your office etc BUT.... is Omega Via being shipped in climate controlled cool storage trucks / vans ?
Doubt it .
So despite what their FIOS reports etc state ....you have no way of knowing that it's the same quality when it reaches your hands as it was when it left their factory.

OmegaVia EPA is about 85% EPA ...so 4 gms is not going to deliver the same amount of EPA as Vascepa .

From my lipid panels on both Vascepa and Omega Via EPA ...both lower TG's but from my records Vascepa will lower my TG's at least 10% more then Omega Via EPA ....using TG's as a marker and acknowledging TG's can vary a lot from lipid panel to lipid panel. This is to be expected as 4 gms of Vascepa contain more EPA then 4 gms of Omega Via EPA

In actual cost with Amazon shipping etc and the fact that you have less EPA per capsule in Omega Via vs Vascepa ....my calcs are that you are going to spend about $70 a mth to get the same amount of EPA as 4 gms of Vascepa .

So if your co pay for Vascepa is less then $70 a mth ...why even consider Omega Via EPA .

The Co selling OmegaVia EPA is very careful to place on their bottles the following in bold black print .
These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration . This product is not intended to diagnose , treat , cure or prevent any disease .

So know what you are getting and if you fit the R-IT profile...prior event etc do you really want to go with a DS alternative if you can afford the FDA approved drug that will soon have the label ...".Proven to reduce risk of heart attacks and strokes in the population studied in the Reduce It trial. "

I expect the Co selling Omega Via EPA to be very low profile so as not to draw the attention of Amarin legal dept
