i agree and HIGHLY doubt it is someone acting on news... that has yet to be released.

saw this happen with DNDN, the day before provenge was approved it went down big..can't recall exact number but like over 50%. no one knew anything. the next day it was approved, shorts even posted they had gotten neg information from the fda the day of approval before any gov't offices were open. crazy.

kite was bought out aug 28, 2017 and the friday before it pulled back. i thought of selling as the stock was dropping so i could buy back monday, but took a minute and a deep breath and felt that weekend was the optimum time for pharma to buy them out, so i logged out of schwab before i sold. monday monring they were bought out.

this is profit takers, shorts, margin call and stop losses until any news to the contrary comes out. and if its adcom meeting still gonna be passed. capitulation hopefully soon.

but still good reason to have some protection to downside like my july 17.50 puts. i still think those puts will expire worthless.
